Our people - Yannick
Yannick Beauvalet - Founder and principal
Yannick is the founder and principal of Præcellion Strategies, and someone who’s rarely found in just one lane. His path cuts across some of Canada’s most dynamic public and private spaces, with a knack for building trust and clear messages wherever he goes.
Yannick’s recent work with the Canada Revenue Agency saw him deep in the world of stakeholder engagement—meeting, briefing, and wrangling ideas with folks from across the public and private sectors, and making sure consultations went beyond just ticking boxes. Before that, Yannick’s time at National Defence equipped him with the calm, strategic mindset needed when issues get sensitive and timelines get tight.
But don’t peg him as a single-track operator—his experience ranges much further. With the Public Health Agency of Canada, he led a multidisciplinary team on the front lines of vaccine confidence. There, he helped translate science into stories real people could understand, all while building smoother governance among teams that might otherwise speak different languages (sometimes literally, but we said we’d skip that part).
Yannick’s roots stretch back to the City of Ottawa, where he got a taste of the complex machinery behind local government, and even further to running his own successful retail business, learning that service, hustle and creativity aren’t just buzzwords—they’re how you survive and thrive.
Add in his start managing special events and dabbling in international trade consulting, and it’s clear there’s hardly a scenario or stakeholder Yannick hasn’t faced down, coffee in hand and a song at the ready.
At Præcellion Strategies, Yannick rolls together this diverse experience, approaching each challenge with a toolbox that’s part strategist, part facilitator, and part storyteller. (Plus, he can still close a retail sale on a rainy Tuesday if pressed.) Prae-: This prefix, meaning "before" or "in front of," reflects our commitment to staying ahead of the curve. We're not just reacting to trends; we're anticipating them, pioneering new methods, and setting benchmarks in the field.
Cellere (from excellere): This root signifies "to rise up," "to be eminent," or "to excel." When combined with prae-, it forms praecellere—meaning "to surpass," "to be superior," or "to distinguish oneself."
